Wow! Planning from the point of view of networks, this at least looks like a beautiful proposition, graphically I just love it. But where does his project sit between pure art and serious proposal?


It's a little disappointing that it's so similar to the Met(r)onymy 1 project from 8 years ago, and as a serious spatial planning tool it would need to be more flexible with more control over variables. This is where digital tools and generative software could be applied - the parametric urbanism that Patrik Schumacher is fixated with.

But I think there are some powerful ideas here - that planning can be a spatial, compositional activity, of layering not zoning, and networks rather than distinct elements.
